Recently, I invited Dr. Philip Ovadia’s team from I Fix Hearts® to tour American Crane and speak to us about holistic metabolic health – the foundation of long-term wellbeing, longevity, and success. During their visit, they toured our facility and experienced firsthand what drives our culture.
I Fix Hearts® was founded by Dr. Ovadia, a board-certified cardiac surgeon who throughout his years of practice had come to a sobering realization: most of the surgeries he conducted could have been prevented. His philosophy: metabolic dysfunction is the root cause of most heart disease, and it is reversible.
The work of I Fix Hearts® is built around three pillars:
• Find the Real Problem — Advanced labs, metabolic health assessment, and deep conversations to identify what’s actually going on.
• Fix What’s Broken — Nutrition, lifestyle, and personalized protocols targeting insulin resistance, inflammation, and plaque risk.
• Never Go Back — Continuing care, ongoing health coaching, regular labs, and metabolic health education.
That same philosophy extends into the workplace through Ovadia Heart Health, Dr. Ovadia's employee wellness organization dedicated to helping teams address the root causes of poor health, not just manage the symptoms.
Their work represents a key value that I live by: take action and become the CEO of your health. CEOing your health means taking full ownership — building your own strategy, implementing it, and being accountable for the outcome.
That’s the CEO approach. And following Dr. Ovadia’s pillars has become one of the methods by which I apply it.
This is not the first time I’ve spoken in-depth with Dr. Ovadia’s team! If you're curious to learn more, Krisna Hanks, Director of Employee Wellness at Ovadia Heart Health, was recently on this Always Lifting episode https://hubs.li/Q04f3Mr60
